Jefferson Man Arrested for an Alleged Domestic Abuse Incident

A Jefferson man was recently arrested for an alleged domestic abuse incident.

According to court documents, the victim spoke to a Jefferson Police Officer about an argument with the suspect, 43-year-old Robert Harvilicz, that turned from verbal to physical early Sunday morning at the suspect’s home in Jefferson. During the altercation, the victim said Harvilicz pulled a rifle out and threatened to use it for suicide. The victim told the officer there were several other firearms in the residence. The officer noticed physical wounds on the victim as a result of the incident.

A search warrant was executed on Monday at the home in the 800 block of South Elm Street, where six firearms were found, including an AK-47, bolt-action, and single-shot firearms, among others. Additional items that were found were several magazines for those firearms and larger amounts of ammunition, along with a large amount of marijuana in several baggies. Harvilicz was stopped on the road by law enforcement, driving a vehicle that belonged to the victim on N Avenue and 290th Street, where he was also arrested and he had drug paraphernalia in his possession.

Harvilicz was charged with two Class D Felonies for dominion/control of a firearm/offensive weapon by a domestic abuse offender and a controlled substance violation, an aggravated misdemeanor for his second offense for domestic abuse assault, serious misdemeanors for his first offense for possession of marijuana and driving with a revoked or denied license, and simple misdemeanors for possession of drug paraphernalia and failure to carry a valid registration card.

Harvilicz was booked into the Greene County Jail. Raccoon Valley Radio will bring you more information as it becomes official.
